AboveNet Wins the City of London’s Considerate Contractor Gold Award

LONDON, 5th November, 2007 AboveNet Communications UK Ltd., a leading provider of fibre optic connectivity solutions for business and carriers and a subsidiary of AboveNet Inc., has been named a Gold Award recipient in the City of London’s annual Considerate Contractor Scheme (CCS). The awards ceremony was held on Friday 2nd November 2007 at Plaisterers Hall in London.

The CCS serves to encourage building and civil engineering contractors working in the City to carry out their operations in a safe and considerate manner, with due regard to passing pedestrians and road users.  AboveNet is delighted to have been named as one of the companies to win the Gold Award this year. The Gold Award recognises that the requirements of the Code of Good Practice have been consistently exceeded.

“This award serves to reinforce AboveNet’s commitment to ensuring that any street work for customer service installations is performed with the highest regard to safety and street user impact,” said Leeland Pavey, Vice President of Operations. “This, in turn, highlights our high customer service standards and ability to meet customer needs.”
